Our Lady of Czestochowa
Polish Roots
This etching print of Our Lady of Częstochowa is a personal reinterpretation of the classic icon, reimagined in a modern style. In this piece, the Madonna is depicted holding her child—symbolizing Poland—safely in her arms, a representation of protection and maternal strength. While Our Lady of Częstochowa may not be the most widely recognized apparition of the Virgin Mary, she holds profound significance for me due to my Polish heritage and the deep reverence my grandmother had for her. Through this artwork, I sought to honor both my roots and the enduring love and faith that the image of Our Lady of Częstochowa has always represented in my family.
